A follow up guest blog from Andre on the year that was 2020.
Well 2020 was a tough gig for everyone, no doubt about it! From state border closures to the City of Melbourne being locked down, everyone made a sacrifice in their own way. If nothing, we all learnt how to endure the tough times!
I often think of the World Wars, a sacrifice few of us today have known or even known how to endure. Endurance is a discipline, an embattled hardness built into some through sacrifice.
During both World Wars our ancestors endured many heart aches and sacrifices, the loss of family, the loss of entitlement or even the loss of the basics of life that today we take for granted.
In my previous blog on What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger, I wrote about my personal and professional losses and a willingness to endure and I’ve done so like many others. I believe it was mainly due to my extensive support network and an embedded willingness to not give up, not to surrender and not to accept a mission or objective that can’t be achieved with a support network.
We have all faced these mountains, obstacles, objectives or similar challenges.
Last year if for no other reason, it showed me that the support I have around me is monumental in overcoming nearly everything in life. The Manstheory February 2021 blog – « The Noble Young Man » showed me that it’s not only the immediate support in my life that helps overcome obstacles, but also an unexpected stranger’s integrity can also aid in the positive progress of life.
As all readers know, being a person of humility may be rare these days, but it’s very refreshing knowing such people still stand out when needed. Allowing an opening of front doors to strangers for apologies but also an opening of our minds to the acceptance of humanity is gratifying. Thank you to the noble young man in standing by his integrity in his humble apology to Deb and thank you to all for your acceptance and understanding through COVID and the ongoing support of humanity’s needs in 2021.
We will no doubt call again on the virtues of humility, sacrifice and endurance to overcome and succeed in 2021. Together we can achieve anything.
