The Four Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferriss

Have you ever thought about how you could escape the daily grind of working out of that same office day in day out, clocking up the hours that are really just eating up a major part of your life?

How’s about that dream of living anywhere in the world for a couple of months here and there whilst still generating the required income to pay your way. Sounds great doesn’t it.

Well read on! The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss might just be what you are looking for. It’s full of insightful ideas and strategies that Tim personally uses. We live in a world where information and virtual assistants’ are at the touch of a screen, it is actually possible for quite a few of us to follow that dream!

You can even have your work or mobile number directed to wherever you want to be, without anyone knowing the difference. Do you usually live in Melbourne and the Head Office calls from London or Sydney ? You could actually be in the Carribean and no one is the wiser!

Do you want to take frequent mini retirements or maybe reduce your workload by 50% without impacting your results?

The title of the book is a little misleading as four hours a week would be a big call for any busy person in today’s world, but it gets the message across. Tim Ferriss is an accomplished writer with, I believe three New York Times’ best sellers and he is also a prolific podcaster. Tim seems to sit very squarely in the modern world of technology and how to take advantage of this resource to enjoy a balance of work and play to suit your time and not be chained to designated work hours that don’t really deliver on the quality of your desired lifestyle.

It’s an interesting insight and more of an information guide rather than a book that you just can’t put down. But it’s worth the read. It gets you thinking. Hopefully I may even be able to put some of the strategies into action myself one day.
