Hi All,
I’ve known Debra for quite a while and she is one of the most organised people I’ve ever met. Whether it be her fitness regime, her attention to detail and how she sets out her week, it is world class. Deb spends her working week as an Executive Assistant ensuring the CEO and the senior management of a high profile business are organised and efficient in their daily requirements and schedules.
I invited her to do a post on being organised – Over to Deb.
Do you often wonder how that guy or girl always seems to be in control ? They always appear to have their act together. Everything just seems to happen like clockwork ! They have a cool head and can evaluate what needs to happen with short notice?
The answer is really simple – they’re organised. They still experience life’s challenges and the “ups & downs” as most people do, but their lives and their time is structured and hence they have the wriggle room and flexibility to deal with the day to day challenges.
To some it sounds terribly boring having everything in the right place and having a routine that borders on being a ritual. It sounds like it’s all so mechanical. But it’s the stuff that you do every day that needs to be organised and ready to go again and again so as you can tackle the bigger things that will always come your way, including the things that need your focus to progress towards your goals.
Being organised is being in control.
Get up early to get the jump on the day ahead. The way you start your day plays a big part in how it will end. Your day ends with having tomorrow organised.
What’s your morning ritual? Is it get up after the fifth time you’ve hit the snooze button, skip breakfast, skull a cup of cold coffee on the run in your clothes that look like you stole them from a homeless person? Does your world look like one big cloudy mess? It just isn’t happening is it !
What about if you set your alarm for an hour earlier and actually got that great piece of equipment called your body into a vertical position (don’t think about it just do it) then went for a brisk walk or jog in the fresh morning air to clear your head and get your mind and body moving. You should still have time to have a healthy and light breakfast – with a great cup of hot coffee.
It is actually a medicine that helps people keeping their potency and treats their condition without any invasive treatment. sildenafil tablets india Research being carried buy cialis cheap check out here out in 2007 suggests that in addition there may often be deterioration in the arteries of the organ gets huge blood that enhances the act of copulation by fueling male reproductive system. Then tidy yourself and put those pressed clothes on that you ironed the night or day before. Maybe get your house or apartment in order. Ready set go ! – you’re in control, time is on your side and you’re feeling like you have this day covered.
A repeat performance at the end of the day by setting yourself up for tomorrow is essential. Before you relax, diarise what tasks you need to complete or focus on tomorrow – treat your diary as a tool. Cooking the evening meal doesn’t have to be complicated. If you maintain your weekly shopping list to include the upcoming week’s ingredients for your pre-planned meals, this keeps it simple and straightforward – stir fries are great and easy to put together.
It’s also a great way to wind down over a red wine.
Get to bed early so you wake up early.
If you have kids it’s another level. Kids need structure, they develop life habits through their parents. There is nothing more impressive than an organised young person.
Being seriously organised requires discipline but being organised and thinking and planning ahead will save you a lot of unnecessary stress and put you in control.
If you’re working on building a future then like all buildings you need a solid footing to build on. It starts from the ground up. Your building will never progress if the footings aren’t in place.
So are you organised? Do you have a routine? Do you have a morning ritual? Or are you just one big ongoing calamity ?
Time to rise and shine. Remember the saying ” the early bird catches the worm” It’s so true – Debra.
